Timber for our wooden frames is provided by reliable suppliers who gather timber from managed forests. We use
59cm to make 1 pair of glasses, which means that we use 1 tree for 8000 frames production.
01
workpiece making
9-layers of 0,6mm natural wooden veneers are glued criss-cross with strong elastic PVC glue. This makes future frame durable but springy.
02
cnc cutting
After workpiece is ready in approximately 12 hours of staying in metallic mould, it comes to CNC. Precise milling provides perfectly symmetrical frame.
03
v-groove cutting
Specific V-shape mill gives standartified groove, suitable for inserting all lenses on planet.
04
hand processing
With great attention to details skilled craftsmen finish mechanical processing of the frame. It takes 6 different sandpapers, 4 specific mills, 2 hours of focused work and loads of patience to make one perfect frame.
05
oiling
Glasses are covered with specific mix of beewax and wooden oil for protection from liquid and dirt.
06
assembling
Only high-grade components used in brevno eyepieces. So, spring hinges endure more than 10000 open-close cycles. All parts are carefully assembled and fixed so frame meets highest requirements of optical industry.
07
lens inserting
As stock sun lenses we use biodegradable acetate lenses with polarized coating and UV400 protection. Lenses are such lightweight that frame along wlth lenses weight only 18 grams.
08
packaging and qc
Final stage of production is QC, where all frames are once more reviewed for minor defects and processed to packaging.
